“It’s the fall that will kill you”

This has been a long put-off project of mine and an embarrassing one at that. You see, I have been in the graphic design field for over 15 years, so you would think I would have made my own personal website right now, right? Well, you would be wrong. I spent so much time working on other people’s projects that when it always came time to work on mine, I just didn’t have the energy. I would focus on what the site needed and what might not work…blah, blah, blah. By the end, I would convince myself not to do it and put it back on the shelf.

It reminds me of the great western “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” where they are arguing about whether or not they can jump to the river below. The Sundance Kid is telling Butch that he can’t swim while overlooking about a 100 foot drop. Butch laughs, “is that what you are worried about? It’s the fall that will kill you!” I always worried about whether I could swim and completely overlooked the fall.

So here I am now, finally taking that leap and hoping that as time goes on, I will be able to delve into some of the projects I have completed, why some worked, and why some needed reworking. I would never say failed since every hurdle is a learning opportunity. Future blog posts will cover some of the projects already posted on the site in greater detail and go into how you might be able to tackle your own creative projects!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you luck in your DIY journey!
